Tai Chi Classes Geared for Those Coping with Diabetes
St. Anthony’s Medical Center will present a series of classes titled “Tai Chi for Diabetes,” taught by certified tai chi instructor Kym Huie.
This tai chi program was developed by a medical doctor and tai chi expert, specifically for those coping with diabetes and other blood sugar problems. These simple, graceful movements will help to bring balance to the body, strengthen muscles and reduce stress. This class is approved by the Diabetes Foundation of the United States.
The series will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Mondays, Jan. 4 through Feb. 22. Classes will be in St. Anthony’s Body, Mind, Spirit Center, located in suite 240 of St. Anthony’s Medical Plaza, 12700 Southfork Road, just south of the main hospital, adjacent to the YMCA.
Fee is $60 per person for the series of classes. A 10 percent discount is given to those taking two or more classes. A 10 percent discount also is given to seniors. Only one 10 percent discount will be honored. Class size is limited, so advance registration is advised.
